Thirty-three young rescuers graduated on the afternoon of this Sunday, November 24, as members of the Vertical Rescue Unit operated by Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.

The volunteers, including nearly 10 young women between 15 and 19 years old, overcame demanding tests during the eight weeks in which they received theoretical and practical classes to become part of this select group.

Members from thirteen Comandos de Salvamento branches participated in the training, which is financed by Norwegian Popular Aid, APN, which provides everything necessary for the volunteers to receive ongoing training.

Two of the participants thanked the Board of Directors and the executive directorate of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador for providing this new training, and said that thanks to it they are now becoming members of the Vertical Rescue Unit.

The new members are trained to carry out the recovery of people in places such as ravines, provide safety in dangerous areas, and thus assist the civilian population in cases of disasters or tragedies.

Roberto Cruz, executive director and delegate of the Quezaltepeque branch of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, thanked the instructors who put all their knowledge into training the new members, who now climb one more step in their personal lives.

The Board of Directors of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador delivered vertical rescue equipment to representatives of the 13 branches that participated in the training.

Rescuers from 13 branches earned their diplomas.

Young women between 15 and 19 years old participated in the training.
The women achieved their goal and passed the tests.
