Authorities from the Ministry of Public Health have launched a fumigation campaign to eradicate the mosquito that transmits dengue, which has already claimed the lives of three minors in the past 15 days.

Municipal committees have requested the support of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador personnel and other entities to carry out the massive fumigation campaign and larvicide treatment in areas affected by this disease.

However, the Minister of Health, Francisco Alabí, has asked the population to prevent mosquito breeding grounds, as dengue cases have increased in Brazil and Colombia.

For his part, Roberto Cruz, Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, is asking his delegates to coordinate with municipal and Health committees to support fumigation campaigns throughout the country.

Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Zacatecoluca branch, have begun fumigating homes door to door in several barrios and colonias in that town.
