On Tuesday afternoon, a tractor-trailer driver miraculously survived when the towing system failed on the tractor unit he was driving from San Salvador to Santa Ana, at kilometer 32 of the Pan-American Highway.
Two tractor-trailers and a sedan-type vehicle were involved in the traffic crash, which left at least two people injured.
The tractor-trailer driver said that the platform carrying the container came loose, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, which collided with another heavy vehicle traveling in the same direction and a car.
The tractor-trailer was partially destroyed; however, the man suffered trauma injuries that were stabilized, and the victim was subsequently taken to FOSALUD in Lourdes, Colón.
Meanwhile, another driver was treated at the scene by another relief institution that also arrived at the site of the traffic crash.
