Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador has instructed its delegates to keep their personnel on alert due to the red alert declared by Protección Civil authorities nationwide over the possible arrival of Storm Julia, which has already weakened as it passed through Nicaragua.
The satellite image shows how Julia has weakened in recent hours. However, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, together with the Municipal commissions of Protección Civil, have gone to vulnerable areas to alert the population about possible evacuations should Julia regain strength and pose a serious danger to the community.
Therefore, the Government of President Nayik Bukele enabled more than 80 shelters to take in families who could be at risk. However, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador has called its volunteers at its 32 headquarters to respond to any emergency.
During the morning of this Sunday, Protección Civil authorities summoned representatives of first-response organizations, as well as other entities that will be on emergency duty, to Plaza Gerardo Barrios, first to learn firsthand how they would respond to situations that might arise.
But first, to offer a prayer to the Creator, asking that Julia not cause a dangerous situation in the country, as Salvadoran leader Nayik Bukele decreed October 9 as National Prayer Day.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, an organization that for 62 years has provided assistance to the Salvadoran population in emergencies, is pleased that its authorities have already prepared their rescue equipment, rescuers, nurses, and doctors, who will remain on alert.
In Cantón El Tamarindo, preventive evacuations have already begun, according to authorities.

Protección Civil authorities met to agree on protective measures for the population.
