Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador concluded its emergency operation this Sunday as part of the Holy Week holiday period.
Since last Sunday the 10th, hundreds of young volunteers traveled to the first-aid and advanced posts installed throughout the country, as well as lifeguards who provided their services at various beaches and resorts.
Rescuers maintained mobile posts on the country’s main highways, where several traffic accidents were handled, leaving more than 30 people dead, as well as dozens injured.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador also provided assistance with structural and forest fires alongside the Cuerpo de Bomberos.
There were several rescues at the beaches, both minor and deep-water rescues. There were people who died by drowning, in areas where there was no lifeguard presence.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador especially thanks each of the young rescuers, doctors, nurses, rescue workers, lifeguards, drivers, and logistics personnel who make it possible for the emergency operation to be a complete success. Also not to be overlooked is the assistance of private companies and altruistic individuals who contribute to financing emergency operations nationwide.
Today, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador can tell the Salvadoran people: “Mission Accomplished.”
