Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento of Lourdes, Colón, Ciudad Arce, and Zapotitán participated in assisting the people who were injured in two traffic accidents reported on the Pan-American Highway.
The first of the road accidents occurred near the sector known as La Arenera, where 5 people were injured. Three of them were taken to a medical facility, while two were treated at the accident scene, where one of the vehicles involved overturned after the impact.
Two hours later, another traffic accident occurred on the same Pan-American Highway near the Reforma sector, where two people suffered serious bodily trauma. They were stabilized and subsequently transported to medical facilities due to the severity of their injuries.
The victims were identified as Mariano Álvarez Hernández, 55, and David Ernesto Hernández Cruz, 36. Both were traveling in a vehicle that left the roadway and crashed into the drainage ditch.
Several road accidents have been reported in recent hours, leaving a number of people injured. Comandos de Salvamento is therefore making an urgent appeal to respect traffic signs and speed limits in order to prevent further tragedies.
