Comandos de Salvamento of Santa Ana continue searching for Mr. Carlos Armando Juárez Centeno, 58, who on Saturday night fell into a drainage ditch while getting off a public transportation unit in Cantón Cruz Verde, Santa Ana.
From that moment, neighbors who witnessed the incident alerted Comandos de Salvamento, joined by other emergency-response organizations and PNC, to begin searching for the man. However, due to the heavy rain and the onset of night, the search operations were suspended after midnight Saturday and scheduled to resume early Sunday.
On Sunday, more Comandos de Salvamento rescuers and personnel from other entities joined the search effort through the area’s rivers and ravines to locate the victim, without obtaining results.
On Monday and Tuesday, the search was expanded, and although army members joined the effort, it did not produce good results. Therefore, on Tuesday afternoon the search operations were suspended due to the threat of rain and the danger it poses in the ravines and rivers, so all personnel were withdrawn.
It is hoped that the search for Mr. Carlos Armando Juárez Centeno’s body can continue and that he can be handed over to his relatives so they may give him a Christian burial.
