Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador received a significant financial donation from Natura & Co Latin America—the group that includes Avon, Natura, The Body Shop, and Aesop—with the aim of contributing to the treatment of patients with Covid-19.
Comandos de Salvamento received a contribution of 50 thousand dollars, which will be distributed among the 30 delegations nationwide to respond to Covid-19 emergencies and provide pre-hospital care. This will make it possible to acquire surgical masks, hand sanitizer, quaternary ammonium, clear protective goggles, biosecurity suits with hoods, pedestal thermometers, among other items.
This donation seeks to improve care capacity and the management of the situation arising from the Covid-19 emergency. It will also ensure access to regions where the emergency situation warrants it and provide care to the population that needs it most.
“Companies must bear in mind that they have a social role, because they have received authorization from society to operate. That is why they must try to mitigate the negative consequences of the pandemic. As the Natura &Co group, we assumed three very concrete commitments from the beginning of this humanitarian crisis: stop the spread, care for people, and keep the economy moving,” say João Paulo Ferreira, CEO of Natura &Co Latin America, and Jorge Kreitz, Country Manager of Avon El Salvador.
“Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador is a humanitarian institution, and since its founding on September 30, 1960, our main mission has been to safeguard the lives of people who are in danger, regardless of their race, religion, or political views,” says Roberto Orlando Cortez Cruz, Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.
