The contingent of emergency responders, rescuers, doctors, and others traveling to Guatemala as part of the humanitarian aid sent by Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele has concluded operations and is scheduled to arrive this Sunday.
Fifteen Comandos de Salvamento members who joined the contingent are returning to the country after helping with rescue efforts, food distribution, and visits to the various areas affected by Hurricane Eta.
The Salvadoran rescue brigades evacuated several families to safe locations amid the threat of a new natural phenomenon that could arrive in Guatemalan territory between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Guatemalans staying in shelters thanked President Nayib Bukele for the humanitarian gesture, food, and medicine brought by the volunteers on his behalf.
