Tree falls onto vehicle on Antigua a Santa Ana highway.

Comandos de Salvamento assisted a person who got the scare of his life while waiting for the storm that battered part of the country’s Western region to pass this Sunday afternoon.
The man, who was taking precautions because the wind gusts and heavy rain made visibility on the Antigua a Santa Ana highway impossible, in the sector known as Colonia Abajo, was surprised when a tree collapsed onto his vehicle.
However, Comandos de Salvamento of Ciudad Arce arrived at the scene and verified that there was only property damage. Together with Protección Civil, they managed to cut the tree’s branches and free the vehicle.
In Zapotitán, Comandos de Salvamento personnel are working to remove a tree that fell onto a retaining wall at the community’s soccer field and damaged the roofs of two homes, which no longer pose a danger once the branches are removed.
Comandos de Salvamento remains on alert due to the arrival of a tropical wave announced by authorities from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, which could cause storms in the country beginning this Monday.
Therefore, the 30 national Comandos de Salvamento sections will remain on alert.
