The Main Base of CDS is finding itself divided. Some CDS staff are with team Barcelona, but others are on Real Madrid’s side. The problem is that these two top teams of the Spanish League lost the championship. Team El barca lost 2-1 against team Ruso Rubin Kasan, and Real Madrid lost against Milan 3-2 on this last Tuesday and Wednesday.
Watching soccer games on T.V. is like an oasis of entertainment as they passionately celebrate goals and make fun of the losing team. This is one of the few pleasures that volunteers at the Central Base have while taking a break from daily EMS runs in a country that is victim of much violence and pain while El Salvador benefits from the help these volunteers give freely.

Executive Director of CDS Roberto Cruz, and president of the governing board, Wilmer Lobo, hands the keys of a new ambulance to the delegate workers of our Sensuntepeque base Adrian García and Ivan Galdámez. This is for the new base that they founded in the department of Cabañas which is located in the northern part of El Salvador. The ambulance was donated by people of Albuquerque, New Mexico who each year send EMS vehicles to the CDS association for emergencies and rescues. EMS crews from the Sensuntepeque base did a fumigation project throughout surrounding communities in collaboration with the main CDS base “Central”. The EMTs helped eliminate and prevent mosquitoes that carry DEngue. This is a great example of the work done by smaller bases in order to benefit the overall health of their communities.
Electing New Board of CDS. Thirty delegates from CDS bases throughout the country elected the new board of directors for 2009-2011 that will govern the future of CDS.

The directive will serve from 2009 to 2011.
Juan Chavez, delegate of CDS Juayua, participates in the discussion between the different branch delegates of CDS in the eastern part of the country in order to discuss future plans on improving the quality and work of Comandos de Salvamento. The board has implemented meetings with other delegates in order to improve communications and future projects of the institution.
CDS branch delegates from the west side of the country participate in a meeting with the governing board in order to plan and exchange ideas on how to improve CDS throughout the country for the benefit of the community it serves.
