TRAGEDY IN NEJAPA/RECOVERY IN PROCESS

Landslide in Nejapa. A Mass Casualty Incident.

Since this last Thursday night, more than 100 of our volunteers have been currently recovering victims from a landslide that covered homes in Nejapa north of San Salvador in the  neighborhoods of Los Angelitos 1 and 2 . 9 bodies have so far been recovered  of around 30 that are missing.  We are working side by side with family members, Red Cross, National Firefighters in coordination with the National Response Emergency System .

Families affected have been sheltered in the polideportivo and also local churches .  Donations acquired by CDS are being coordinated by our staff in order to bring clothes, food, and disposable diapers for babies.

Comandos will continue over the next days to continue searching for the missing.

MCI MVA with 2 DOA

CDS responded to an Mass Casualty Incident MVA that involved a bus and a car along KM 28 along the Pan-american Highway where a female and minor were DOA and others with multiple injuries. The incident took place near Santa Cruz Michapa in  Cuscatlán.

CDS did what they could to secure, triage and securely package the injured and supported forensics in identifying the deceased.

Two DOAs from Tragic Accident

Automotor colisionó contra poste del tendido eléctrico dos personas fallecieron.

Two DOAs were supported this Monday night at Blvd Federal de Alemania y la Calle los Naranjos in San Salvador. The Accident involved 8 other survivors in the same vehicle that crashed into an electrical pole.

DOAs were 21yo Javier Rosales, and 18yo Ulises Alvarado. The injured were  Jefferson Edenilson Ruiz, Bryan José Alberto Ruiz, Josué Isaías Contreras, Andrés Alexis Segura, Yaneth Segura.  They were all transported to Hospital Rosales and Benjamín Bloom.

Other patients like Godofredo Ayala, Consuelo Josefina, Emely Rosales y Henry Hernández, were attended to at the scene of the accident.

Mass Disaster Fire Simulated Excercise

Members of CDS SAR team coordinates with the on scene simulation director.

Comandos de Salvamento SAR team participated in a rescue and evacuation exercise on floor 8 of the main government building down town.

The simulated exercises started with employees leaving the building to secure and safe designated areas while helping geriatric visitors. SAR workers arrived minutes after to assist. Bomberos, CDS, Red Cross and Green Cross also collaborated in the exercise in order to be more prepared when large building fire happens like the one earlier this year at Tres Torres Government buildings.

Médico de Gobernación brinda informe de la paciente que sufrió el colapso durante el simulacro.
Cuerpo de Bomberos atendieron con prontitud la emergencia.
Voluntarias de Comandos de Salvamento demostraron su valentía.
Pacientes fueron llevados a lugares seguros durante simulacro.
Cuerpo de Bomberos atendió como una emergencia real.
Simulacro fue un éxito.

6 DOA and Many Injured in Olocuilta

Seis personas fallecidas y cerca de 15 heridos fue el saldo de un accidente de tránsito ocurrido sobre la Autopista a Comalapa a la altura del pupusodro de Olocuilta, departamento de La Paz.

6 dead and 15 injured were the result of an MVA that took place on the freeway to the international airport near the pupusa stands in La Paz dept.

Comandos de Salvamento collaborated with other first responders to recover and rescue passengers from a local bus that fell down an embankment. Forensics from Medicina a legal are present still identifying the deceased.

 

Socorristas luchan contra el tiempo para salvar la vida de las personas que iban en la buseta que cayó a barranca de 15 metros.

Cerca de 15 pasajeros resultaron lesionados.

Excursionistas iban con destino a San Marcelino.

Lesionados fueron llevados a distintos centros asistenciales.
