The 29 Comandos de Salvamento branches remain on alert due to the increase in coronavirus cases, which now total 32 positive cases.
Comandos de Salvamento volunteers adopted the campaign “STAY AT HOME… I CAN’T, I’M A VOLUNTEER…” as one of the measures to prevent infection. In addition, they provide prevention talks at points along some bus routes to raise awareness among passengers about the hygiene measures they must take to avoid contracting COVID-19.
The Municipal Protección Civil Committees, of which Comandos de Salvamento are members, hold constant meetings and sanitation operations at the entrances to populated areas as a preventive measure for the population.
In addition, Comandos de Salvamento are collaborating in putting up posters containing the necessary recommendations for the population to adopt hand-cleaning hygiene measures, as well as to avoid COVID-19 infections, since 32 positive cases have been recorded so far, of which 29 are imported and three are local. It should be added that 12 more people, who are already in quarantine, remain under observation.
It is worth mentioning that the World Health Organization, WHO, states that the COVID-19 virus is transmitted from an infected person through coughing or sneezing by means of saliva, or through simple close breathing near the carrier.
Therefore, WHO recommends maintaining a distance of one meter between each person, since we are more exposed to respiratory droplets with infectious capacity produced by an infected person when they cough or sneeze.
