The official delivered one thousand two hundred food packages for the same number of young Comandos de Salvamento volunteers who dedicate their free time to emergency service, exposing their lives to the coronavirus.
The Minister delivered high-quality face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, disinfectants, alcohol, and rubber boots to be used as part of the protective equipment for each rescuer, most of whom are young people from the 30 delegations operated by Comandos de Salvamento.
In addition, a lot of bunk beds with their respective mattresses was delivered for the comfort of the young volunteers during their rest periods.
Roberto Cruz, Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento, thanked the authorities of the Ministry of Governance and Territorial Development, as well as Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, since the Central Government is reaching out to first-response institutions that provide services during all emergencies, both those caused by natural disasters and by various traffic and workplace accidents.
Mario Durán delivered several food packages to the rescuers, whom he congratulated for their arduous work for the benefit of the Salvadoran people, and urged young people to join these institutions to become responsible youth serving the community.
