Comandos de Salvamento not only respond to emergencies, but also give what they do not have. With great effort, the volunteers handed out toys, sweets, and coloring books to the children of the vendors located along Calle Delgado in downtown San Salvador.
To commemorate “International Children’s Day,” the Comandos de Salvamento rescuers set aside their first-aid kits and stretchers to walk several blocks along Calle Delgado and began handing out sweets to the children, as well as toys and coloring books. Literary works were given to adolescents, a gesture appreciated by the vendors, who valued the gifts for their children.
In addition, Comandos de Salvamento wanted to share part of the celebration of its 60th Anniversary with the vendors and shared a cake at the former library grounds, in front of the Ex Cuartel Market, in San Salvador.
Comandos de Salvamento presented certificates of appreciation to the partners who contribute to the arduous work carried out by the volunteers.
