NEW COMANDOS DE SALVAMENTO RESCUERS

A group of 21 young volunteer rescuers from the various delegations of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador graduated this Sunday in the field of Vertical Rescue.

The volunteers underwent demanding physical and theoretical tests over more than six weekends, in addition to practical exercises and learning about some of the equipment used to safeguard their lives and those of the people to be rescued.

In this vertical rescue course, 11 young women enrolled to secure a place, demonstrating their ability and effort to compete and overcome all the obstacles.

“Sometimes I felt like not coming because the training sessions are very demanding; besides, I was afraid of heights,” says Pamela Portillo, who now says she is fully capable of rescuing anyone, regardless of where they are, having become one of the best students.

The Board of Directors and the Executive Directorate of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador thanked the delegates who assigned their personnel to participate in the training and to provide highly trained staff in the local branches.

They also awarded and congratulated each of the young people for their dedication and for overcoming all the tests.

The directors also thanked the instructors and their collaborators who dedicated themselves to teaching all their knowledge to the new rescuers. They also thanked Ayuda Popular Noruega (APN), which financed the training.

The delegates received vertical rescue equipment financed by Ayuda Popular Noruega, so that the local branches could have instruments to carry out rescue operations in high-risk areas.
