Comandos de Salvamento Popotlán branch carried out one of the finest actions during this quarantine period, providing refreshments to police officers and soldiers who guard and patrol the streets of Apopa, as well as the SITRAMSS stations.
Very early, Katya Castellanos and Sonia Burgos began preparing the bread for the delicious torrejas and coffee that minutes later would be distributed to police officers and soldiers who watch over the safety of Salvadorans during this emergency.
The action was greatly appreciated by the troops and PNC agents, who thanked the rescuers as they distributed a small refreshment while traveling through the streets of Apopa, part of the Troncal del Norte highway, and SITRAMSS stations in San Salvador.
For several days, the Popotlán volunteers requested help from the public so they could donate the bread, sweets, and coffee, as well as disposable items, to carry out the activity, which benefited several law-enforcement officers who expose themselves day after day to help comply with the safety measures requested by the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele.
Comandos de Salvamento is a nonprofit public-service organization that provides emergency ambulance services 24 hours a day, but it also shares in the population’s suffering during times of calamity or emergency, and on this day they wanted to be part of the Angels who watch over those men and women who support the measures in response to the pandemic. Well done, Comandos de Salvamento Popotlán.

A coffee and a torreja to ease the hunger.
