Rescuers from the Nejapa and Quezaltepeque Delegations have begun, together with the authorities of the Municipal Government, a sanitization campaign along the main streets of each municipality, as well as in market areas.
From the early hours, dozens of young Comandos de Salvamento volunteers began sanitizing the main roads of the municipalities of Nejapa and Quezaltepeque, in addition to warning passersby about proper care and handwashing to avoid contracting the coronavirus, which has already left 32 people infected and 12 more under observation by Health authorities.
Comandos de Salvamento, an organization with 60 years of service to the Salvadoran people, has maintained its emergency services nationwide. In addition, it has categorically stated that it will not respond to suspected cases of flu, cough, or high fever that could endanger the lives of volunteers.
However, its Board of Directors has stated that it is at the disposal of the Government of President Nayib Bukele and, therefore, has already assigned the first group of young Comandos de Salvamento rescuers, who received training in the use of protective suits to handle suspected cases of COVID-19.
It should be added that Comandos de Salvamento are holding constant meetings with the authorities of the Protección Civil Committees to coordinate activities involving advice for the population in communities, cantons, and hamlets.
Special thanks to the San Lorenzo Cooperative of Quezaltepeque, which has provided the pumps used to carry out the sanitization.
