A Mass Casualty Incident this last Monday involved fifteen vehicles in an MVA near El Congo in the department of Santa Ana. Among regular vehicles, a semi truck and five buses were tangled in the chaotic mess. Over 50 people were injured. First Responder crews from the delegate bases of El Congo and Sapotitán offered Basic Life Support and First Aid to injured patients. Most of the injured were transported to the hospital in Santa Ana while their vitals were monitored. Despite the gravity of the situation, there were only minor injuries and no deaths.
