Fifty eight year old Maria Ventura Cea was rescued from the bank of the Acelhuate river in the neighborhood of San Miguelito along the 12th Avenue N. and East 15th St. The High Angle Rescue unit of CDS arrived to the scene in the early morning the 31st of March. The patient was secured and transported to the hospital. Neighbors and witnesses in the area commented that the patient was assaulted and thrown down into the river.

Recovery of Gang Victim Violence

A 15 year old patient only identified as Guillermo was rescued from a cliff in front of a soccer field in the neighborhood Colonia Villa Hermosa in San Luis Mariona, north of San Salvador. The patient presented with numerous lacerations to his face caused by a knife.  Lead brigade leader, Edgar Jhony Ramos and other EMTs applied dressings and assured integrity of his airway.  Comandos then used climbing gear and a rescue litter to recover the patient and transported to Zacamil Hospital. Other EMTs present were Carlos Vásquez, Xiomara Vásquez, Elver Flores y Ronald Castro.

Agents from the National Civilian Police on scene commented that the youth could be involved with gangs.  Violence has increased to unsurmountable levels among students and other adolescents in El Salvador over the last decade.

Body Recovery in Ciudad Delgado

Search and Recovery crews from CDS recover a body of a man around Colonia Los Alpes in Ciudad Delgado. The man was found deceased in the Acelhuate river. The cause of death could not be determined due to the high amount of decomposition. After recovery, the body was handed over to Medicina Legal Forensic team.
