Emergencies Attended

Due to SNET territorial studies on the current rainy season, on May 23 at 7:30 pm, certain events were reported that resulted in the following persons being evacuated to the town of Sensuntepeque in the dept of Cabañas.

On the 26th of May our delegation of Comandos Sensuntepeque reported that in the small village of Copenlopapa a youth of 12 years of age named Leidy Vanessa Aguirre  was struck by lightening resulting in immediate death. They also reported that 20 people of 6 families made their own decision to not be evaciated. All signed documents of their self determined decision not to be transferred to shelters that are located in the Centro  Escolar=Central School of Los Naranjos, Ciudad Dolores, Sensuntepeque. Mark is doing an Ironman Triathlon for Comandos and is raffling off a 25 Liter Overboard Waterproof backpack to raise funds for remodeling of the patient bathroom at the Central Base in San Salvador.

Tickets are 5 dollars and can be purchased via the paypal link on the left or directly to donations@salvamento.org via paypal. Please include your name and contact info so that a raffle number can be emailed. Those that purchase more than 20$ will have their names posted on the site under “comandos de corazón”. The Raffle is only open to those living within the continental U.S. and will last until mid July.
