EMS members of Comandos de Salvamento and Green Criss participated in an EMT course APAA this last 23rd of May. The course took place in the National Firefighter Offices and was sponsored by Glasswing International and USAID/OFDA Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance. Over 30 EMS workers improved their quality of care by acquiring more patient care knowledge regarding MVAs, natural disasters and other pre-hospital care situations. Representatives from Civil Protection and Glasswing were present during the training.
Comando de Salvamento Edgar Jhony Ramos who has been with the institution for more than 25 years has been the subject of a small graphic novel cartoon illustrated by Alecus on his blog.
Comandos de Salvamento were present in the streets ready for action to offer protection and first aid to anyone that would need it during various parades and marches that went on in celebration of Workers day in downtown San Salvador. About 50 ems workers participated in the march offering support with eight ambulances. Thousands of workers marched to commemorate this day and were offered help when needed. Fotos: CDS
